All of these instruments have leaflets that come with them (inside the box). This leaflet describes the course and will give you a link to access the website at a particular point, whereupon you can register
Having registered you can then begin the course
The course consists of a lesson a week. This comprises of videos, MP3 downloads and original music pages that have been designed so that they can be printed off. The videos can be played as often as needed, as can the MP3 files. Both feature John Harper, a UK Based teacher with over 30 years of music teaching experience. He has an excellent screen manner and demonstrates every single piece of music in the 52 weeks of lessons
Emails are sent as Lesson reminders
At the end of each lesson there is a summary page on which the user must check boxes when they feel they have completed the relevant sections of the lesson. When they do this and fill in the box with their email address it sends their details to our servers here.
Our servers acknowledge the email and then, 3 days later remind them that their next lesson is due in a further 3 days time. 3 days later it then send them an email with the link to next weeks lessons and so on....This stops someone just clicking through the lessons without completing the work. The reminders also act as a nag to encourage students to do the next lesson. It sounds complicated but the whole system is automated and means students are always encouraged to keep going on the course.
From theory to improvising and more...
We have users who are now up to lesson 40 and lots of students who are now past lesson 10. This goes to show that people are enjoying the lessons since they keep on with the courses. We have had people contact us who feel they have some basic knowledge and would like to start further in the course. We are happy to accommodate this.
By the end of the lessons a student will have a thorough grasp of the guitar and will have covered subjects ranging from setting up the guitar, reading tablature, playing chords, damping, pull-offs, tied notes, improvising, bending strings, pentatonic scales and more!
